How can I be sure you are using my support wisely? How much of my donation goes to support program activities?Special Olympics strives to operate as efficiently as possible. A significant portion of our revenue comes from a broad base of donors. Every contribution makes an important difference. Thanks to the generosity of our supporters, more people with intellectual disabilities have a chance to participate and experience the transformative powers of sports. More than 80 percent of our expenditures go to supporting program activities - including supporting local training and competition, developing education materials for our volunteer coaches, outreach to recruit more athletes, family support, and much more. Maintaining these high standards is a priority at Special Olympics.
-
What credit cards does Special Olympics accept? How can I be sure my donation is secure? We accept American Express, Discover, MasterCard, and Visa. Special Olympics takes every precaution to protect our donors' information, please refer to our privacy policy. For the Pinch-a-Dollar campaign we utilize the app-stores (Google and Apple) to collect the money. From within the app and on the www.pinchapp.com website Paypal is used for donations. In all cases no sensitive credentials (credit card details) are passed through our system.

Why support our cause?Special Olympics (SO) Singapore is a registered non-profit voluntary IPC organisation affiliated to the National Council of Social Service and the Singapore National Olympic Council. It is part of an international organisation dedicated to empowering persons with intellectual disabilities (IDs) to become physically fit, productive and respected members of society through sports training and competitions. SO Singapore is the only voluntary organization solely dedicated to providing recreation and sports training and competition opportunities for persons with IDs in Singapore.
SO Singapore is not a member of the Community Chest and depends entirely on the generosity of individuals, civic organisations and private corporations for funds required to cover the costs of our operation, sports training programmes and events. All this which is estimated at $200,000 per year.
